In recent years, with the extension of scale and improvement in internationalization level, the university has been enhancing its speed of communication and cooperation with foreign universities and research institutes. Every year there are approximately 300 foreign officials and professors coming here to visit, give lectures or make academic communication, and more than 10 counter-colleges of Shandong Agricultural University are involved, such as College of Agronomy, College of Plant Protection, College of Economics and Management, and College of Life Sciences. SDAU cooperated with Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, held developing countries agricultural and technological training class many times, agricultural professionals from more 30 countries in Asia, Africa and Oceania came to join the training. Moreover, SDAU also held short-period Chinese training class many times, and hundreds of foreign students came to SDAU for learning Chinese. At present, it has developed friendly relationship with 23 universities covering 11 countries and areas, say, America, Britain, Germany and France, and cooperated extensively in scientific research, exchange-student, and project development.
In 2002, SDAU set up College of International Communication normally, which has been ratified by Shandong province governm-ent and Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Now, College of International Communication cooperates with Fachhochschule of Economics and Management in Essen (FOM) and the Royal Agricultural College (RAC), cultivating undergraduates jointly. Up to 2007, it has a fulltime enrollment of 1300 students.
