        Yin Xiang-chu is an Academician of Chinese Academy of Science, outstanding scientist in Entomology, doctoral supervisor and specially-invited professor. After graduating in July 1958 from the College of Plant Protection at SDAU, he has long been involved in the research of ¡°locust classification¡±. For more than 30 years, professor Yin has discovered 37 new categories and 103 new species of locusts. In 1982, he established the New Classification System of Locust Branch in China, later known as
¡°Yin Xiang-chu Classification System¡±. The publication of his ¡°Locusts on Qingzang Plateau¡± in 1984 provided important reference material for the research as well as the prevention and cure of locusts in this region. What¡¯s more, his ¡°Distribution Catalogue of Locusts and Their Close Sorts in the World¡± , which was published in 1986 in English with more than 2,000,000 words, recording all the known locusts with 2261 categories and 10136 species, is the most comprehensive and systematic monograph of its kind.
        shan Lun is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a renowned scientist in crop physiology and ecology, a doctoral supervisor and specially-invited professor. After graduating in July 1951 from the College of Agronomy at SDAU, he has long been involved in the research of ¡°agriculture on dry land and water conservation¡±£¬ pioneering a new field in physiology and ecology of agriculture on non-irrigated farmland. He once won National Science and Technology Advance Awards and 8 other awards at the provincial and ministerial levels. He is also the chief editor of 3 monographs.

         Li Zhen-sheng is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, a famous plant geneticist, doctoral supervisor and specially-invited professor. After graduating in July 1951 from College of Agronomy at SDAU, he has long been involved in the research of ¡°hybridization of wheat with far breed, chromosome project and genetic theory¡±. The Xiao Yan No.6 strain of wheat, of which he was in charge of the selection and cultivation, has been popularized in an accumulated 40 million mu with an increase of 1.8 billion kg of wheat, which enabled him to win the National Technological Invention Award.
        Tian Bo is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, brilliant plant pathologist, doctoral supervisor and specially-invited professor. Based on his long-time research on plant viruses, categorical viruses and biological engineering, he has won the Great Achievement Award of CAS once; the Scientific and Technological Achievement Award twice, 2nd and 3d prize 7 times; third prize in the National Science and Technology Advance Awards twice; and 2nd prize in the Scientific and Technological Achievement Awards by the Ministry of Agriculture once. Professor Tian has been publishing more than 150 papers in academic journals both civil and abroad, and 5 monographs.
        Wei Jiang-chun is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, well-known scientist in bacteria, doctoral supervisor and specially-invited professor. Professor Wei has long been involved in the research of¡°Distribution and Classification of Lichen in China¡±, being in charge of many national research projects as well as many Eighth Five-year Plan tasks. He once won the Special Prize and Third Prize in Science and Technology Advance of CAS. Now he is the board chairman of the China Bacteria Committee as well as a member of PRC Scientific Committee of Endangered Species.
