Yu Song-lie is an Academician of the
Chinese Academy of Engineering , a well-known expert
in wheat and a doctoral supervisor. Professor Yu has
long been involved in the research of ¡°biological
statistics and field experimental technology¡±¡°crop
cultivation¡± and¡°wheat cultivation
and breeding¡±which has won him two National
Science and Technology Advance Awards and many other
awards at the provincial and ministerial levels. He
has published over 50 academic essays and 10 monographs
among which the¡°Theory and Practice of
Cultivation Technology in Elaborate Planting with
High-yield of Winter Wheat¡± was listed
one of the 10 programs which should be popularized
with the most effort during the National Ninth Five-year
Plan period. |

| Shu Huai-rui is an Academician of
Chinese Academy of Engineering, eminent expert in
apple tree, doctoral supervisor. Graduated in July
1950 from the College of Horticulture at SDAU, professor
Shu is now the chief expert in the industrialization
of improved variety of an apple tree in Shandong
Province, as well as the standing member of the
Council of China Horticulture. Being in charge of
many important projects at the national and provincial
levels, he once placed second in the National Science
and Technology Advance Awards and has won more than
10 other awards for scientific research at ministerial
and provincial levels. His techniques such as ¡°Storing
Water With Holes Covered With Film¡±?and
the ¡°Exploitation and Study on the Integrative
Skill of High Quality and Yield for Million Mu Young
Apple Trees of Shandong Province¡±
have produced enormous economic profit. |
